Service Offering

As part of the "Cloud Network Services" portfolio, Swissom will offer a range of network services such as Managed Reverse Proxy, Forward Proxy, Global Load Balancer, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, etc.).

Managed Forward Proxy

The Managed Forward Proxy is a customer-specific instantiation, which is operated by Swisscom. The provision, modification and decommissioning is automated end-to-end. Each Managed Forward Proxy is set up on a Swisscom public IP address. This means that the automated provision of BGP routing is always possible.

Internet Access & DDoS Protection (option)

Swisscom's Internet access is used for this service without the need of a customer own Internet access. Both IPv4/IPV6 or dual stack are available. The bandwidth of the Internet access can be seen in the Performance Classes chapter below. Internet access is only overbooked 1:3.

Performance Classes

The Manage Reverse Proxy service is available in different performance classes:

Performance classMax. throughputMax. connection-rateMax. concurrent-connections
Small50Mbit/s100cps10'000ccc
Medium200Mbit/s200cps50'000ccc
Large1Gbit/s500cps100'000ccc
Extra Large2Gbit/s1000cps400'000ccc

Throughput: The "Throughput" defines the throughput that is transported through the forward proxy. It consists of upload throughput plus download throughput.

Concurrent Connections: These are the connections on an instance that are active at the same time.

Connection-Rate: The connection rate (cps = connection per second) defines the maximum possible sessions that can be set up in one second. The duration of the sessions is irrelevant.
