User Account Domain

Overview

In some cases, it can be useful or even necessary to have a domain that only contains User account objects. If you need that, you can order a Resource Domain. Be aware that it is not allowed to stage workload servers, be this managed and/or non managed servers into your User Account Domain.

Order a User Account Domain

In the portal, create a new deployment

• Blueprint name: Managed Swisscom Resource Domain
• Resource domain FQDN: must contain a valid domain name
• NetBIOS name: must contain a valid NetBIOS name

Post deployment tasks

After the deployment, you have to do the following manual tasks:

• Verify if the needed conditional forwarders in the user domain exist
• Configure the correct DNS servers on the servers network interface
• Uninstall the AD integrated DNS server
• Disable the staging account in the user account domain
