Manage S3 Instance

An S3 instance has the following configuration options:

AttributeDescription
NameFriendly name of the Object Storage S3 instance.
Uplink TopologyThe network (uplink topology) to which the S3 NAT Network will be interconnected.

This option is only available on tenants with multiple uplink topologies.
Archive SafeIf 'Archive Safe' is selected, files can be written once and never be updated again.

For most use cases, leaving this option disabled is recommended.

Please note: When you order an Archive Safe instance, Swisscom will need to create buckets with a given retention period manually via ticket (See below). More information about Archive Safe can be found in the best practice guide
Internet AccessibleIf set to true, the S3 Instance will additionally be available from the internet. This decreases security and is not recommended for sensitive data.

Be careful: For security reasons this cannot be modified/changed later on.

Please note: This option might be restricted by your organization on tenant level. More information can be found in the best practice guide
Enable EncryptionEnables encryption on namespace level. This option cannot be changed after creation.
Shared With SwisscomThis option allows connectivity from a dedicated Swisscom zone to your S3 instance. This is needed for example to import OVA images via ESC Object Storage S3 instances.
Shared With OthersThis option allows connectivity from other tenants/networks. In order to use the functionality in a tenant, it is needed to open a service request. As soon as the function is activated, a list of cNAT IDs can be added, which will all be able to access this particular S3 instance. The Catalog Item "Get Tenant cNAT ID" provides the ID for a specific tenant, which can be added to the form. cNAT IDs can be modified anytime for a specific S3 Instance.
