Create a Managed OS VM

Please use instead the following blueprints:

A Managed OS VM can be ordered with one of the following catalog items (blueprints) in the portal:

  • Managed Windows 2016
  • Managed Windows 2019
  • Managed RHEL 7
  • Managed RHEL 8

The steps for creating a Managed OS VM are the same as for an unmanaged OS VM. Use these instructions.

In addition to the instructions above, a Managed OS VM needs the following parameters defined:

  • Patching Window: The patching window is used to patch the OS and if necessary, to reboot the OS.
  • Technical Contact Email (Optional): Define an Email address for the Technical Contact which is responsible for the application of the VM. In case of a problem with the VM, the Managed OS support team can easily contact the application supervisor of the VM. It is highly recommended to fill in the field and keep it updated in case of changes!
  • Technical Contact Phone (Optional): Define a Phone number for the Technical Contact which is responsible for the application of the VM. In case of a problem with the VM, the Managed OS support team can easily contact the application supervisor of the VM. It is highly recommended to fill in the field and keep it updated in case of changes!
  • Resource Domain: Select a resource domain for the new Managed OS VM.
